Mel is working on her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, with a focus on health psychology. Her approach to therapy includes balancing exploration of the past and how it may be contributing to current symptoms, while providing tools and skills to promote healthy changes in the here and now. Mel’s therapeutic approach is always tailored to the client’s needs and includes evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy.
She has experience assisting adults with a broad range of presenting concerns, such as depression, stress, relationship challenges, codependency, and adjustment disorders. Mel has a particular interest in treating sleep difficulties and insomnia, with training and experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, the gold standard treatment approach for chronic insomnia.
