Individual Psychotherapy
The ultimate goal of individual psychotherapy is to improve an individuals mental health by spending 1:1 time with your therapist. Sessions typically occur once a week for a total of 55 minutes. However, the duration and frequency of these sessions may vary, depending on your needs. These sessions can be done in person, via telephone, and/or through our Telehealth services (see below for more details).
During these sessions you are encouraged to dive into solving your problems using the framework of evidence based psychotherapies. Click the link below to learn more about evidence based psychotherapies.
EVIDENCE BASED PSYCHOTHERAPIES
Psychological Assessment
A psychological assessment is typically completed at the first session of therapy and lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. A psychological assessment is a method in which a psychologist objectively examines current emotional functioning in conjunction with a thorough review of the individual’s personal history and any available medical or mental health records. Some situations may require the clinician to examine a client’s anxiety, depression, and intelligence levels; however, tests which are selected are chosen based on the clients main presenting problem.
Telehealth
At this time, all therapy services are offered via telehealth only. This option is appropriate for most individuals; however, there are some limitations depending on the nature of the presenting complaint and psychological history. Overall, research shows there is no difference in outcomes for individuals who participate in either in person or telehealth services.
